One of the most popular card games of today is poker. Poker is played at both live and online casinos. It has been a favorite because of the fun and excitement the game has to offer. It’s not just a game of chance but is also considered a game of skill. It takes great patience to be able to hold up long at the game of poker and so here are some tips and tricks to help you survive at poker.
First things first, your bankroll is very important in the game of poker. It comes part of the strategy since betting is very crucial in this game. Make sure that your bankroll is enough to allow you to strategize in the game. Make sure that you’ve got at least twenty rakes for the cash game. Now if you are buying in for the “Sit-n-Go’s”, make sure you’ve got about twenty five times the buy-in. For tournaments, make sure you’ve got at least fifty times the amount of buy in. Now aside from the budget you allot for your bankroll, a good tip is to sit down or join a table that allows the maximum authorized rake. You’ll earn more from your best wins as compared to a low rake poker table or room.
Another great tip you should follow is to find a good player in the table before joining. Once you see the best player in the table, sit to his left. This will give you an advantage over him. He gets to make the first move and you’ll then be able to act depending on his move. Now that’s certainly a good strategy that can help you survive and eventually win at poker. It’s important to know that the money circulates from right to left and always know that danger comes from your left side. So make sure to always take note of the players. If you are playing online, it’s best to keep notes of their names or buddy list to recognize who are the good players next time you log in. It’s also best if you can just observe for a couple a minutes before you start joining the table or room. If you can’t be a spectator in a room, you can just play on a low profile as you observe the other players do their strategy and go from there. And of course, make sure to play the opposite strategy in the table. If you are playing at a tight table, play loose. If you are at a loose table, play tight. And at the same time, never show your cards!
